The Dead Space remake is finally out, and right off the bat, it’s made it abundantly clear that the long wait for the beloved sci-fi horror franchise’s return has been well worth it. Developer Motive Studio’s remake has breathed new life into the series- but of course, no game launches with zero kinks to iron out, and Motive has confirmed that it is currently working on some that players have encountered in Dead Space.
More specifically, taking recently to Reddit, the developer confirmed that it is aware of issues that some players have been having with Variable Rate Shading on PS5 in particular, and that a fix for the same is being worked on. While there’s no word yet on when exactly that will happen, Motive Studio says the patch that addresses the issue will also add an option for players to turn off Variable Rate Shading in the game’s PC version.
In our review of the game, we awarded it a score of 10/10, saying, “Dead Space is one of the best survival horror games ever made, and one of the greatest remakes of all time. It takes a masterpiece of the genre and allows its biggest strengths to shine brighter than they ever have, while also improving upon it in meaningful ways with smart changes and additions. Motive Studio has delivered an instant classic and a true giant of the genre.” Read the full review through here.
Dead Space is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
