Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name looks like it will be limited to a digital only release in North America. According to franchise-specific YouTube channel Kamurocho Bros, Sega has stated that there will be no physical release of the game rated by the ESRB.

For context, ESRB—the Entertainment Software Rating Board—is the primary ratings board for video game releases in North America. If a game is to release in any region in the continent, it has to be rated by the ESRB. This includes separate ratings for physical and digital releases.

Japan seems to be getting a physical release, however, and there is no news yet on whether regions in the EU will also be digital-only, or if the markets in Europe will get a physical release.

RGG Studio recently showed off some gameplay for Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name during Summer Game Fest 2023. The title also got a November 9 release date, and confirmation that it will be coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. More details on the game are likely to be revealed during the RGG Summit, which is slated for June 15.
