Witchfire

After many years in development, The Astronauts’ rogue-lite dark fantasy FPS Witchfire is entering early access for PC on September 20th. It’s exclusive to the Epic Games Store on release, but in a new tweet, the developer assured it would arrive on “other platforms,” whether “PC or consoles” afterwards.

It essentially confirms that it will also come to Steam at some point. As for consoles, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S are the most likely options. Given that it’s developed on Unreal Engine 4, Xbox One and PS4 aren’t out of the question, but The Astronauts may want to focus on the more recent systems.

It also assured that there would be options to center the crosshair, hide damage numbers, and customize the field of view with a slider. Also, it still has the dark atmosphere from the first teaser release in 2017, with the assurance that players would “fear…things.”

Stay tuned for more details, and in the meantime, check out some gameplay of the different spell types and how they interact.
