miHoYo’s next big update for Honkai: Star Rail has yet to be shared, but it’s already looking to the future. In a new Myriad Celestia trailer, we see Kafka, one of the Stellaron Hunters in Jepella Palace, tried for her crimes. The presiding judges run through various locations, from Planet Screwllum and the Attouine Universal Auction to the Cyber Prison of Inupeis.

In many of these locations, the Stellaron Hunters’ actions were catastrophic (like unleashing data demons on Inupeis). However, Kafka adds one more charge – the Jepella Rebellion, which begins at that moment. It’s revealed that the judges were under her spell, and their regime slowly collapses.

The end sees another Stellaron Hunter, long believed to be Sam, telling Kafka to stop playing with her food. She promises to next time, but it’s too late now. As suggested through various in-game dialogues, Sam appears to be a robot and one who seeks life (as opposed to Blade, who seeks death).

There’s no word on when he’ll join the roster, but we could see some of these locations in the future. Honkai: Star Rail is available for PC, iOS and Android, with a PS5 version due later this year. Check out our review here.
