Fresh off the release of Cyberpunk 2077’s Update 2.0 and the expansion, Phantom Liberty, CD Projekt RED has announced 25 million copies sold for the base game. Its last sales milestone was September 2022, when it crossed 20 million copies.

When Cyberpunk 2077 was released in December 2020, it sold over 13 million copies despite extensive controversy over its performance on previous-gen consoles, undelivered promises and several other issues. It would receive numerous updates over the years, with the release of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime last year providing a significant boost to its daily active player count on PC.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. However, Update 2.0 and Phantom Liberty are exclusive to current-gen consoles and PC. Check out our re-review of the game here and its expansion here. CD Projekt is developing a sequel, codenamed Project Orion, on Unreal Engine 5. A release window hasn’t been confirmed.
