FromSoftware’s first paid expansion for Elden Ring, Shadow of the Erdtree, has received its first gameplay trailer. It also has a release date, launching on June 21st (as rumors claimed) for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. Check out the trailer below.

Set in the Land of Shadow, it features Miquella, Malenia’s sibling, and a new region, the Land of Shadow, for players to explore. This land is “obscured” by the Erdtree and serves as the first place that Marika set foot. An “unsung battle” has purged the land, but Miquella has still retreated to it, sacrificing everything “Golden” to wait for his Lord’s return.

Of course, there’s plenty of new content to see, from new bosses – like a beast-head that calls down lightning – to enemies, including one that sucks the life out of players. New weapons and Ashes of War, including a sleek series of kicks, are also included. The environments also look stunning, whether a stairway with many hanging pots or lava-filled caverns.

Stay tuned for more details shortly, and check out our review of the base game here.
