Capcom has released a string of Resident Evil remakes in recent years that have enjoyed impressive critical and commercial success, and to no one’s surprise, the company confirmed last year that it had plans in place for yet more remakes of earlier Resident Evil games. Which ones exactly though? That’s the question that many fans have asked more than a few times, and as per a prominent leaker, the answer might not be what you expect.

Leaks have previously claimed that as many as five Resident Evil games are currently in the works at Capcom, which includes multiple remakes. And as per prominent Resident Evil leaker Dusk Golem, that includes neither Resident Evil 1, which was the subject of recent leaks, nor Resident Evil 5which many believed would come next after remakes of Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4.

As per the insider, Capcom has instead started development on remakes of Resident Evil Zero, which originally released in 2002 for the GameCube and served as a prequel to Resident Evil 1, and Resident Evil – Code: Veronica, which is a direct follow-up to Resident Evil 2 and considered to be the series’ true third mainline entry by many in all but name. Demand for remakes of both titles – the latter in particular – has been high. Interestingly, Dusk Golem’s claims have also been corroborated by VGC’s Andy Robinson.

Additionally, Dusk Golem has also claimed that Resident Evil 9 has been internally delayed to late 2025 at the earliest, and that the game isn’t going to be unveiled this summer, contrary to prior reports.

When any of these games will be announced remains to be seen, but if the leaker’s reporting is to be believed, there’s clearly plenty for fans of Capcom’s survival horror franchise to look forward to.
