While Arrowhead Game Studios takes more time to work on its patches for Helldivers 2, it’s still pumping out content for the co-op shooter. Following the players’ liberation of Varylia 5, the EXO-49 Emancipator Exosuit, the second mech introduced thus far, is now available for all.
What sets it apart from the EXO-45 Patriot is that it has two autocannons. Based on early impressions, the Emancipator quickly shreds light and medium-sized units. It seemingly struggles against heavy hitters like the Bile Titan, so exercise caution before taking it on.
Helldivers 2 is available for PS5 and PC and has sold 12 million units since launching on February 8th. It’s seen some controversy recently, specifically the whole fiasco of mandatory linking with one’s PSN account on Steam (which Sony quickly backtracked on). Since then, Arrowhead has hired a new CEO, with Johan Pilestedt becoming the new Chief Creative Officer. Stay tuned for further updates in the meantime.
