Black Desert developer Pearl Abyss has confirmed that its next title, the single-player-focused Crimson Desert, will be playable at Gamescom 2024. It’s a first for the action RPG, which was announced in 2019 and faced multiple delays ever since.
The developer will share more details on its booth’s location before Gamescom begins, but the title will be playable from August 21st to 25th from 9 AM to 8 PM CEST. Originally planned as a prequel to Black Desert, Crimson Desert takes place in the same setting while offering a standalone story.
Players control the mercenary Macduff, who’s trying to overcome his past. Its last gameplay showcase was at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2023, highlighting activities like fishing and hot air ballooning. Combat, exploration and environmental destruction were also revealed.
Crimson Desert is reportedly slated to launch in fiscal year 2025 for consoles and PC. Perhaps it’ll appear at this year’s Gamescom ONL with a release window. Stay tuned for updates.
