Silent Hill 2

A new story trailer and extensive gameplay for Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 are available, highlighting the remake’s atmospheric scares and revamped gameplay. However, the title features several other fundamental changes to its exploration, including more buildings players can enter and explore.

The PlayStation Blog revealed that you can find ammo and recovery items within these. Some even require smashing windows to enter, though beware as you may encounter monsters. As for the puzzles, while Bloober Team confirmed new ones, it seems that some offer “clever references to the original.” You can also set their difficulty separately to focus on the story.

It’s also confirmed that Wood Side Apartment and Blue Creek Apartment have”significantly” changed layouts from the original. Enemies, items, and puzzles are in different locations, mixing things up for veterans of the original. Whether this applies to later areas remains to be seen.

Silent Hill 2 launches on October 8th for PS5 and PC. Head here for more gameplay and details, or check out our feature. You can also learn about the new enemy attacks and combat actions here.
