Directive 8020

After teasing an appearance at Gamescom Opening Night Live, Supermassive Games has finally revealed Directive 8020. As part of The Dark Pictures series, it’s a sci-fi horror title which seemingly focuses on body horror. Check it out below.

Developed on Unreal Engine 5, Directive 8020 is about the colony ship Cassieopeia crashing onto a planet called Tau Ceti f. Unfortunately, they run into an alien lifeform that can mimic them. Promising “all-new stealth gameplay mechanics,” players can also utilize improvised weapons.

Throughout all this, you can never be sure if you’re speaking to a crew member or an alien, making those choices even more challenging. The trailer focuses on Young, an astronaut played by Hollywood actor Lashana Lynch. Expect other noteworthy characters to be revealed over time.

Directive 8020 launches in 2025 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Stay tuned for more details as they arrive and further announcements from Gamescom Opening Night Live.
