"I can understand that perspective, watching from the outside in, but no. Absolutely not," said Bethesda Game Studios' Jon Rush.

Following the success of Amazon’s Fallout TV show, there’s been a surge of enthusiasm for the video games. While Fallout 4, Fallout 76, and other titles thrived, the demand for a new mainline game was palpable. Bethesda’s Todd Howard understood this desire but also said a sequel doesn’t need to be rushed.

As for concerns over Fallout 76 potentially affecting the development of a potential Fallout 5, creative director Jon Rush told TheGamer this wasn’t the case. “Absolutely not. I can understand that perspective, watching from the outside in, but no. Absolutely not. If anything, when Fallout 5 does come out, it’ll make it even more impactful. But [Fallout 76] isn’t holding anything back.”

Fallout 76 is gearing up for Season 18, Milepost Zero – Country Road, which launches on September 3rd. Alongside new Seasons rewards, it rebalances fire and poison damage for combat, revamped Legendary crafting, and adds a new Best Builds mechanic for CAMPS.

Meanwhile, Fallout: London, a massive expansion-sized mod for Fallout 4, finally launched last month and became the fastest-redeemed title on GOG. While its set-up process takes some work, the experience is certainly worthwhile. Check out our review here.
