The PlayStation 5 Pro is real, launching on November 7th worldwide. In a new PlayStation Blog post, Sony outlined some of the upgraded console’s new features, confirming support for Variable Refresh Rate and 8K gaming alongside Wi-Fi 7. However, even more interesting is the PS5 Pro Game Boost.

Applicable to over 8,500 backwards-compatible PS4 titles, it offers performance improvements, with select titles benefiting from Enhanced Image Quality. Furthermore, free updates for existing PS5 titles will leverage the Pro’s features. Labelled PS5 Pro Enhanced, the titles include:

  • Alan Wake 2
  • Assassin’s Creed Shadows
  • Demon’s Souls
  • Dragon’s Dogma 2
  • Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
  • Gran Turismo 7
  • Hogwarts Legacy
  • Horizon Forbidden West
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
  • Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart
  • The Crew Motorfest
  • The First Descendant
  • The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered

Pre-orders for the console begin on September 26th at select retailers and online through PlayStation Direct. Though it promises advanced ray tracing, PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution for sharper image quality, and faster GPU rendering with more Compute Units, these will only apply to enhanced PS5 titles.

The PlayStation 5 Pro will be available for $699.99 when it launches this Fall. Stay tuned for more details on its other features shortly.
