Fallout made a successful jump to television last year with Amazon Prime’s acclaimed adaptation, and we now know exactly when to expect its next drop of episodes- and they’re going to arrive before the year is over, as it turns out.

Amazon has announced (via Variety) that Fallout Season 2 is going to premiere later this year at some point in December. As the end of Season 1 suggested, Season 2 will “take audiences along for a journey through the wasteland of the Mojave to the post-apocalyptic city of New Vegas.” And though we’ve yet to see anything of Season 2, Amazon already seems confident in its quality and how it will perform because Season 3 has also been officially greenlit.

“We are absolutely thrilled that our global Prime Video customers will be able to delve deeper into the wonderfully surreal and captivating world of Fallout,” said Vernon Sanders, global head of television, Amazon MGM Studios. “Jonah, Lisa, Geneva, and Graham have done an exceptional job bringing this beloved video game franchise to vivid life on Prime Video. Together with our amazing partners at Bethesda Games and Bethesda Softworks, we are delighted to announce a third season of Fallout, well ahead of the much-anticipated debut of Season Two.”

Amazon’s confidence in Fallout’s continued success isn’t a huge shock, even if Season 2 hasn’t yet premiered, based purely on how well Season 1 did. According to the company, Season 1 has had over 100 million viewers, making it one of Prime Video’s top three titles to date.

There might be plenty more of Fallout to come from Amazon in the years ahead. Aaron Morten, the actor who plays Maximus on the show, recently said fans could have five or six seasons in total to look forward to. Read more on that through here.
