FBC Firebreak - Path Tracing

Remedy Entertainment’s FBC: Firebreak is one of several titles that will ship with support for Multi Frame Generation and Path Tracing. Following Nvidia’s announcement of upcoming games supporting DLSS 4’s features, it released a new trailer showcasing both features. Check out the trailer below.

The most noticeable impact of Path Tracing is visible about 17 seconds in, with a “Detour” sign reflected in a nearby puddle. The reflection looks sharper and includes more details, like the nearby railing. However, even the shadows cast by lighting are noteworthy, looking much softer and natural with Path Tracing.

The next shot emphasizes this better, where a nearby fire illuminates the pillar and its creepy crawlies more realistically. The gameplay is running on a GeForce RTX 5090 at 4K and Max settings, so your mileage with the performance may vary.

FBC: Firebreak launches on June 17th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Its minimum and recommended requirements for PC have yet to be confirmed, though Remedy says they won’t be as high as Alan Wake 2.
