Bandai Namco surprised us with the announcement of Code Vein 2, a sequel to the 2019 Souls-like action RPG. It’s releasing in 2026 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, and features the return of the Revenants, with the theme seemingly revolving around time.
Slight new gameplay was revealed in the trailer, which includes co-op and new bosses. Players can harness weapon types like katanas and dual blades, along with unleashing unique abilities (including summoning a piercing projectile at enemies). You can also hop on a motorcycle to traverse the world.
Stay tuned for more details in the coming months. The original Code Vein is available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC and takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where only the vampire-like Revenants exist. Those who fail to satisfy their hunger morph into the Lost and go on a rampage.
With partner characters, bonding mechanics and devouring mechanics similar to God Eater 3, it offered some interesting twists on the Souls-like formula. Check out our review here.
