NeoBards Entertainment’s Silent Hill f was the second title to receive the most focus during the Konami Press Start event. The development team, alongside series producer Motoi Okamura, went behind the scenes to talk about the direction and approach to the title.
According to senior producer Albert Lee, NeoBards and Konami spent a lot of time iterating back and forth to bring the charm of Ebisugaoka to life. The choice of 1960s Japan as the setting ties into the Showa Era, with the developer wanting to create areas that feel “familiar yet alien.” That sense of familiarity extends to the combat system, though NeoBards also wants it to feel fresh and not overly complex.
Writer Ryukishi07 interestingly revealed that the theme is something never tackled before in the series, but he believes it fits. Of course, some more artwork of horrifying creatures, courtesy of character artist kara, was also showcased.
Silent Hill f launches on September 25th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Konami also announced a remake of Silent Hill 1 with Bloober Team as the developer.
