A new update is available for Bethesda Game Studios’ Starfield for PC via the Steam Beta branch. It’s pretty minor, addressing an issue with the Extreme Temperature gear and improving the format and display of the Creations menu. There are also mild improvements to Mission sorting and the usual fixes for general crashes and stability issues.

It follows the May Update, which implemented support for Creation Bundles, 2 GB Creations, and Very Low display settings on PC. Unfortunately, the silence around the next expansion and more substantial additions continues. Bethesda previously said that it has a “lot of exciting things planned,” which it reiterated with this update announcement.

“Looking ahead, we’re continuing work on future updates and will share more about the exciting things we have planned for Starfield in the coming months.”

The space-faring RPG was reportedly slated for PS5 when Shattered Space debuted, but for unknown reasons, that didn’t happen. The port’s release date is unknown, but it could launch soon after the announcement, so stay tuned.

Starfield is available for Xbox Series X/S and PC alongside Game Pass. It crossed 15 million players as of November 2024.
