We were just talking about how much we’d like to see more of EA Sports NHL 27’s Connected Franchise Mode, a returning feature that was last seen in the franchise’s 2014 edition. Its return has been a big part of why we can’t wait to jump into this one, and the latest deep dive has only made our fervor grow stronger.
It brings a lot to the table in terms of features. However, the first thing that stands out is the user interface, which is quite straightforward and intuitive while giving you a lot of control over league sizes ranging from three to thirty-two user-operated teams. Additionally, the option to become a commissioner or join a league as a manager, adjust a plethora of factors in custom leagues such as season length, playoff formats, scoring formats, and salary caps, alongside changes to the free agency process, are all welcome additions.
This one’s looking like a completely fresh take on a familiar feature, which should be a heady blend of nostalgia and modern convenience. You can bet that we’re going to bury our noses in it when the full game hits the shelves on September 11th for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
