We already know that Metro 2039 is going to be darker than anything that preceded it, but we’re thinking that the new Collector’s Edition might give us a way to feel a little safer as we navigate that dark world as The Wanderer.
It comes with a life-size replica of the Wanderer’s Spartan helmet, a valuable tool he’ll need as he prepares to return to Moscow to confront The Hunter, perhaps to relive a past that he’s been running away from for a long time. We’re certain the story will take us to places we’re not really keen on visiting, but that’s always been a part of the Metro franchise’s charm, right?
Of course, the adventure is fraught with peril, but that’s what the helmet is for. If you’ve been a long-term fan, this helmet’s something you’ll want to get your hands on when pre-orders for the game’s Standard and Collector’s Editions go live sometime this year. Metro 2039 launches in February 2027 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. It’s also getting a new trailer at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25th.
