Shortly after TiGames released a trailer for Zoopunk during Gamescom, the developer has now released an extended version of the same trailer, giving us more hints about the world and story through the addition of a few extra scenes. While the original trailer was only a minute and a half long, this new extended version clocks in at more than 5 minutes. Check it out below.
The trailer kicks off with a narrator explaining how the lives of the Animal Folk were disrupted with the arrival of the Machines. Among other things, the Machines started destroying entire cities and even started taking Animal Folk as captives. The trailer then transitions into gameplay, with the protagonist exclaiming that he is going to “smash this rotten world into pieces”.
The heroes end up on a moving train that seems to be guarded by the Machines, and as they make their way forward, we get a deeper look at its hack-and-slash combat. As the heroes get deeper into the train, we learn that the train is being used to transport innocent Animal Folk who have been infected with a mysterious disease known as the crystal plague.
The next mission shows us another one of the playable characters, who focuses more on big, heavy swings with his large bladed weapon. This section also shows off how players can quickly switch between the three playable characters, and players will have to do this quite often since each character has their own navigational abilities. With the heroes getting close to their new objective, we also get to see a boss fight.
In the dual boss encounter between the protagonists and Nine-toe Lu and Webfoot Jiang, players have to be careful about how they space out their opponents. While the player themselves can focus on one of them, the AI-controlled allies can keep the other one busy. Celebrations after the fight are cut short with the arrival of the Machines. The final moments of the trailer also serve as the introduction of a mysterious new character that seemingly wields a katana and has samurai-style moves.
While Zoopunk doesn’t yet have a release date, TiGames has confirmed that it is in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The trailers have also mentioned PS5 Pro as one of the game’s target platforms, which indicates that the studio is working to ensure that the extra horsepower can be taken advantage of.
Zoopunk was announced in November 2025 with a trailer that revolved around the heroes hunting for an artifact known only as the “Spark”. While no new details about this central storyline have been revealed, the “Spark” made its presence known in both the reveal trailer and its latest trailer.
Interestingly, the studio came under some scrutiny for the alleged use of generative AI tools for Zoopunk. While the developers have denied this, they have acknowledged that there are some AI-powered tools available in the content creation suite that will give players more options to create things like vehicle skins, clothing color schemes, and other similar items.
