Season 2 is nearly ending in Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, so what’s next? As it turns out, a Cleaner invasion. That’s right – the pyro-obsessed faction is officially coming to Washington, D.C., bringing their Purple Flame along for the ride in Season 3: Red Horizon.
Going live today, it brings new encounters out in the open world and “Burn-focused” gameplay. New Classified Assignments await alongside a new Season Pass, limited-time events, challenges, and more. Even the Dark Zone is getting new content with Blackout, a specific location where all caps on gear power have been turned off.
You can finally unleash your full capabilities against other players, and see who complains first that the other’s build should be nerfed. For the PvE-minded, Toxic Dark Zone is permanently in rotation. And for those who hated losing tokens in Escalations after getting disconnected, that’s finally been addressed.
Of course, Ubisoft Massive isn’t stopping there. In Season 4, the Black Tusk is seemingly returning and a mysterious “White Tusk” could debut. A Prototype Gear rework is also planned to provide more control and less RNG, affecting Expertise and Augments in the process. You can also expect more agency in Escalations alongside Mutators becoming “more consistent and predictable.”
Stay tuned for more details in the coming months. The Division 2 is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
