Grounded 2 has definitely been one of the more interesting early access titles we’ve engaged with, thanks to its unique premise, excellent gameplay loop, and distinct art style, helped by the gorgeous worlds it brings to life.
We had a lot of fun with it when we reviewed it last year, finding it easy to recommend for survival crafting fans. The sentiment was only reinforced in the last update the game received, and it’s likely to be the case with the new Rot and Ruin. This one takes you to a rotting wood pile infested with termites, making exploring its cramped, winding spaces a challenge you’ll have to work hard to beat. Of course, those termites aren’t the only hostile creepy crawlies in the area, and you have a massive, very ominous centipede to contend with as well.
The news isn’t all bad, though – a new Potato Beetle Buggy is set to help you cover some distance. Meanwhile, the Splotcher lets you add a dash of color to anything you create, so it truly feels like your own. That’s a nice touch! The launch trailer’s below in case you want a closer look before you dive in.
Grounded 2 early access is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
