While Bloober Team continues its work on the remake of the original Silent Hill, the studio has yet to reveal any details about the project. According to a new report by MP1st, the title will seemingly include Gabrielle Fritz and Jade Matthew as part of its cast. While the report couldn’t get more specific, including which characters Fritz and Matthew will play, it notes that the small cast of the original Silent Hill would make it easy enough to narrow this down.
Among the female characters in the original Silent Hill are police officer Cybil Bennett, nurse Lisa Garland, and antagonist Dahlia Gillespie. Fritz and Matthew are both also noted as being quite experienced with working on games, with the former having previously worked on games like Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus and Battlefield 2042, and the latter having worked on the Korean MMORPG Dragon Nest.
Details about who will play other important characters from the game, including protagonist Harry Mason, remain elusive, however.
The last time Bloober Team spoke about its work on the Silent Hill remake was back in October 2025, when it confirmed that development on the project had officially begun. At the time, the studio confirmed that it was actively working on five different projects.
“We have two first-party production teams, one of which is working on the Silent Hill 1 project and the other has started work on the next project,” said the studio (via machine translation). “As part of the second party, there are currently 5 projects.”
Konami had confirmed that Bloober Team would be developing the remake of the original Silent Hill back in June 2025, following the critical and commercial success of the studio’s Silent Hill 2 Remake. The decision to remake the original Silent Hill likely came down to the fact that Konami might also want to remake Silent Hill 3 at some point. However, many of the horror title’s story details revolve around events that took place in the original Silent Hill, making a direct remake of 3 after 2 difficult.
With Silent Hill’s remake, Konami and Bloober Team can start laying the foundations for the larger story that is told in Silent Hill 3, which features an entirely new protagonist but still has story threads originating from the events of the original game. Whether we might also see a remake of Silent Hill 4: The Room likely comes down to the potential success of upcoming titles.
The most recent entry in the franchise was Silent Hill: Townfall. Developed by Screen Burn, the title further explored the idea of Silent Hill not really being a geographic location, and being more of a phenomenon that could take place anywhere in the world. Townfall takes us to a Scottish town in the 1990s, exploring the story of Simon Ordell, who returns to the docks of St. Amelia in order to “put things right”.
