A Minor But Awesome Visual Detail That You May Have Missed Out In DriveClub

DriveClub visuals

After the initial delay of the PS4 exclusive, Evolution Studios promised to revamp DriveClub’s visuals as best as they could. The racing sim has been looking better and better since a new official release date was announced – this can be ascertained by recent gameplay footage which shows the more nuanced graphical effects.

The newest gameplay footage shows cars racing across the Cayoosh greenery in Canada and if you look at the video from 1:21 onwards, you’ll catch the slightest hint of moisture on your car’s windshield, illuminated by the sun in the background. You can head here if you want a more high quality version of the footage to admire the effect. Since the track is surrounded by mountains, it makes perfect sense that the cool weather will have its effect on the windshield. We have asked Evolution Studios whether the weather will have any dynamic effect on the car or handling. We will update this story when we hear from them.

DriveClub will be releasing on October 7th for the PlayStation 4, almost a year after it was initially supposed to launch for the console. The game will present at Sony’s E3 media briefing on June 9th so stay tuned for more details.
