Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve has proven to be a strong addition to the venerated franchise, and Bandai Namco knows it has a hit on its hands. A game rarely sells a million copies on brand value alone, not without enough meat on its bones to justify a new title that must live up to the high standards of its predecessors.
We were quite impressed with everything it had to offer, scoring it a 9, and it looks like our fellow critics share our appreciation. A new accolades trailer is out, and those near-perfect scores are significant since this one’s PC version hasn’t been doing well and is being worked on as we speak.
However, it looks like things are getting better for those hoping to play Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War without installing Ace Combat 8. There’s nothing but hope for a title that has you feeling like the sky isn’t the limit when it all comes together. It’s an experience we were quite optimistic about even before it launched, and that assessment still stands true after spending a considerable amount of time with it.
Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
