The Surge

Deck13’s upcoming action-RPG The Surge today got its very first set of images, finally giving us a look at the title, and showing us what to expect from it when it launches. The new images include one singular screenshot, as well as some concept art showing off the main character.

The Surge is set on a dystopian Earth, where constant technological advance led to a bloated society now on the verge of a total collapse. Against this backdrop, The Surge features “innovative combat mechanics with a unique character progression system based on modular upgrades gained through the tight, visceral combat.”

The images themselves look promising, with an appropriately gloomy and moody artstyle, painting the despairing picture of an Earth at the end of its life remarkably well.

The Surge is set to launch on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2017. It is going to be just one more promising RPG coming to us courtesy of Focus Home Interactive- alongside Dontnod’s Vampyr.
