Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition a real-time strategy game developed by Forgotten Empires and published by Microsoft.
It is a remaster and expanded version of the original Age of Empires 2, which was developed by Ensemble Studios and released first in 1999.
Conjtent from the original Age of Empires is being brought into Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition with the new Return of Rome expansion.
On the occasion of the real-time strategy series' 25th anniversary, Microsoft has announced that it'll be making its console debut next year.
The expansion adds two new civilizations – the Poles and the Bohemians – and also brings three new campaigns.
AoE2's Dawn of Dukes expansion will take you to Eastern Europe, while AoE3 will add the US civilization.

The remaster is confirmed for Xbox Game Pass on PC and Steam as well.
