Gamescom will be kicking off under two weeks from now with Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 22, and we’re beginning to learn more about what we can expect from that opening showcase- starting with one of 2023’s most highly anticipated titles.
Taking to Twitter, producer and host Geoff Keighley recently confirmed that Alan Wake 2 will be shown off at Gamescom Opening Night Live this year. Keighley and game director Kyle Rowley have both seemingly suggested that “the brand new reveal” will focus on Alan Wake himself, one of two central protagonists, who finds himself in The Dark Place, after previous showings focused on new protagonist Saga Anderson in Bright Falls.
Gamescom week will be bringing with it reveals and updates on plenty of titles, with Ghostrunner 2 set to receive new details the day before Opening Night Live, and Microsoft bringing over 30 games as part of its Gamescom week lineup. Meanwhile, NetEase and Bandai Namco have also recently revealed details on what they’ll be bringing to the event.
Alan Wake 2 is due out on October 17 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
