Albert Penello, who leads planning for the Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Kinect at Microsoft, recently took to NeoGAF to clarify and talk about how the Xbox One’s DVR records achievements.

We had earlier reported about Adam Pollington, the product manager of Xbox Australia confirming that the Xbox One DVR will record gameplay for every achievement unlocked. But Albert Penello clarified his counterpart comments stating that not every achievement will be automatically recorded.

“It won’t be automatic for every Achievement. It’s a feature that Developers can unlock for achievements, OR, for instance, have hidden in the game for doing something cool or discovering something hidden. Basically we allow developers access to GameDVR and they can put conditions on an automatic recording,” he said.

“But not every Achievement will automatically be recorded,” he clarified.
