8. Astalos

First introduced in Monster Hunter Generations, Astalos is as wicked as it looks. It piles on heaps of Thunder damage with the induced Thunderblight causing you to get stunned more easily. But on top of this is some seriously crazy aggression, coupled with confusing attacks like thunder projectiles which move unpredictably across the ground. If it’s not crashing into you with the full brunt of its body, then it’s spinning around or just charging up a large beam of thunder on its head and bringing it down like a saber. As you’d expect, everything hurts.
