But what’s even worse is that the game that you are playing is a play and the entire time the signs are all there, telling you that it is a play, example: The start screen. The game begins with a curtain opening, shadows on backdrop, but hey we were kids back then, what did we know.  The bottom line is Mario was never once in any real danger. You were merely the audience.
