NPCs will react dynamically to in-game events
In open world games, especially in the current gen ones, you would expect a bit of realism in terms of AI. In Watch Dogs the developers really raised the bar in terms of AI behavior. For example, if Aiden gets into a fight, NPC’s would run away, or the brave ones would stop and take pictures of the fight with their cell phone. Certain NPC’s would call the police, which would add to the complication of the fight and Aiden would have to run away. If there is a warrant out for Aiden, then some NPC’s who would recognize Aiden’s face would call the police to notify them, and the player would have to get away quickly. Not only is the NPC AI very good, but the Police AI is very effective as well because it adds a challenge for the player.
