Amnesia Rebirth

SOMA and Amnesia: The Dark Descent developer Frictional Games has been teasing something for a while now. And it’s finally revealed as a new Amnesia title called Amnesia: Rebirth. Though part of the same world as the first game, it takes place in Algeria instead. Check out the first trailer below.

The protagonist is Tasi Trianon, who’s on the run from something that feeds off of terror. We don’t really get to see what it is but that just adds to the terror. It does seem like players will be exploring some ruins and stumbling upon some ancient artifact.

Could this be related to the events leading up to Amnesia: The Dark Descent, which took place in the Algerian desert and saw protagonist Daniel messing with forces beyond his control? It certainly seems like it. Amnesia: Rebirth releases in Autumn 2020 and will be coming to PS4 and Steam (the listing is currently up). Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
