Amnesia: The Bunker takes a more survival sandbox approach to the series’ horror, but there’s still a story for fans to enjoy. A new trailer is available of the same, highlighting the player’s predicament, how to escape and the terrifying monster that pursues them. Check it out below.

Set during World War 1, the player controls French soldier Henri Clément. He ends up trapped in an abandoned bunker and must find a way to escape. There are various hazards and traps, but worst of all, a monster is in pursuit, adapting to his moves. Scavenging for resources and checking for traps is key, but you never know what the darkness holds.

Each run is different due to randomization, and the player adapts to their circumstances. You have a hub that serves as a safe room to save progress, fuel the generator and store resources. While the sanity mechanic from the previous games is gone, the “interplay between light and darkness” is present since the monster prefers hunting in the dark.

Amnesia: The Bunker is out on May 16th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4 and PC. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
