Animal Crossing: New Horizons made a brief appearance during yesterday’s Nintendo mini Direct. The developer showcased the first seasonal event, Bunny Day, which would begin on April 1st. Players will interact with a new character named Zipper and locate hidden eggs. Check out the trailer below.

Along with eggs, there will be limited time items to craft. Accessing the event requires downloading the version 1.1.0 update and an internet connection when it starts. Interestingly, another update is coming by April end and will see Earth Day being celebrated. Suffice to say that players will be busy all throughout April.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is currently available for Nintendo Switch. You can read our review for the game here. It’s been an immense success since launch – reports indicate that physical shipments and digital sales have crossed 2.5 million in Japan alone. In the UK, its launch sales were 3.5 times more than that of Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Stay tuned for details on future updates (even if future DLC could see some delays).
