Lots of different details were revealed during the Nintendo Direct presentation of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. There was some good news, like free updates that will add new events post-launch. The first event will be Bunny Day, taking place in April to commemorate Easter, and other events are planned around Christmas, Thanksgiving and so on. With different events, players will meet various seasonal characters.

Unfortunately, Nintendo reiterated during the presentation that cloud saves would not be supported. In case of data loss or system damage, those who have Nintendo Switch Online could have their data recovered. This is only a one-time deal that’s coming after launch and once again, players cannot transfer saves between systems.

A reason wasn’t really offered for the lack of cloud saves but hopefully the company’s stance will change on it down the line. For now, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is set to release on March 20th for Nintendo Switch. Check out new details on Island Tours and Land Development here.
