Animal Crossing: New Leaf Arriving on June 9th for North America

After the astronomical success in Japan, in which the game has sold more than 2 million copies for the Nintendo 3DS, Animal Crossing: New Leaf has finally been announced for North America. Nintendo of America stated that the game will come out on June 9th for Nintendo 3DS.

The funny thing is: This is actually a fairly smart decision. New Leaf has seen a fair share of success with women in Japan, as sales data has chosen. And considering the number of women who are taken by social games and family titles, especially on the Wii, New Leaf should experience similar success.

On the flip side, for hardcore, Animal Crossing: New Leaf marks the first time you can wield tyrannical power as the mayor. We don’t know if these powers are like Tom Cain (of Boss fame), but one can always hope that there’s always a place where they’ll never find the bodies. Oh, and also running the town. That too.
