So we know there will be a movie based on Sony and Naughty Dog’s seminal The Last of Us from last year. We’ve been hearing rumblings about it, and it appears as though they may be reaching a decision on some casting choices, at the very least. For instance, it appears that Maisie Williams, who plays Arya on the HBO hit series Game of Thrones, is eager to play Ellie in the movie.

“It kind of all came about through Twitter a long time ago,” she said. “The power of Twitter still never ceases to amaze me.

“Honestly I would love to [take on the role] and that’s where it is at the moment. There’s no script, no director and it’s still very early days for the whole project. If it all goes ahead soon enough then yeah, I would love to.”

Honestly, I think she would do a great job playing Ellie, since she has that whole tough survivor girl thing down. But we’ll see. Hopefully they get this movie right, it would be too much of an injustice to the game otherwise.
