Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag Remake Officially Confirmed by Ubisoft in New “Resynced” Concept Art

"Some whispers have a little more wind in their sails. Keep your spyglass on the horizon," says Vantage Studios' Jean Guesdon.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced

After what feels like years of rumors, teases and even ratings agencies confirming the same, Ubisoft has officially announced the remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. And just as expected, it’s now called Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, with a new concept art depicting protagonist Edward Kenway on a ship.

Jean Guesdon, head of content at Ubisoft’s Vantage Studios, said, “What matters most to us is giving each project the time it deserves and releasing them when they are ready.” And while repeating the classic Assassin’s Creed phrase, he made an exception in the case of Resynced. “Some whispers have a little more wind in their sails. Keep your spyglass on the horizon.”

And that’s it. No word on a release date or the rumored reveal in April. Honestly, as far as announcements go, this is probably the best way to do it – a sudden drop to leave fans wanting more.

Of course, several alleged details have been circulating for a while now. The modern-day segments set in Abstergo have reportedly been cut, with new quests and activities seemingly added. Loading screens are also apparently toast, and fans can seemingly look forward to the restoration of cut content. It’s also allegedly taking cues from the weather effects in Assassin’s Creed Shadows while delivering improvements to the map.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is allegedly set to launch in March, but following Ubisoft’s massive organizational shuffle, it was internally delayed. As always, we’ll need to wait for more details, but at least it’s finally real.
