Following numerous leaks, including the cover art, Ubisoft finally showcased Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Set in Baghdad, it focuses on a younger Basim, 20 years before the events of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Starting as a thief, he joins the Hidden Ones and becomes an Assassin. Check out the cinematic trailer below.

Historical figures will appear in the story, but no specific individuals have been confirmed. Actor Shohreh Aghdashloo of The Expanse fame is confirmed to be voicing Roshan, Basim’s mentor, so that’s nice. Of course, no gameplay has been showcased, but pre-orders are now available with the 40 Thieves side quest included as a bonus.

There’s also a Collector’s Case to pre-order with its own bonuses. Assassin’s Creed Mirage launches in 2023 for Xbox One, PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox Series X/S and Amazon Luna, but no specific release window was confirmed. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months and check out the trailer breakdown with creative director Stephane Boudon, narrative director Sarah Beaulieu, and art director Jean-Luc Sala.
