Assassin’s Creed Valhalla launches in about a month and a half, bringing with it the promise of another sprawling, epic, open world RPG. Up until now, Ubisoft have spoken plenty about what players can expect from it on the gameplay side of things, from its map size to its quest structure to even rap battles. Now, with a new trailer, they’ve shifted the focus to the narrative.

From mythological and fantastical elements to plenty to chew on for those invested in the series’ lore to telling a rich story in what’s being touted as a diverse setting, Ubisoft have been talking up various elements of Valhalla’s story, and in this trailer, it’s all on display. It shows us glipmses of how and why Eivor sets sail from Norway to England, what they find once they get there, and what challenges they undertake as they attempt to make a new home for the Vikings. Take a look below.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla launches on November 10 for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Stadia, and on November 12 for PS5. It will run at 4K and 60 FPS on both Xbox Series X and PS5. You can get more details on the game through our interview with Narrative Director Darby McDevitt.
