Astral Chain is the newest action title from the acclaimed PlatinumGames. It looks to be one of their most interesting titles, with its cyberpunk-themed aesthetic and interesting take on the partner system. But, like most of their titles, the star of the game is the action. In the appropriately named “Action” trailer, we get a breakdown of the basics of the game’s fundamental combat.

The trailer starts with a small bit of plot, but then jumps into the meat of things. We get the lowdown on melee combat, guns, and one of the most unique parts of the game, the Legion. Working with your Legion is one of the keys to navigating the game. You can perform several sync attacks with it for massive damage, but since your time with it is limited, you’ll have to be strategic in how you use your Legion’s abilities.

Astral Chain will release on the Nintendo Switch August 30th. For an overview of other aspects of the game besides the combat, take a look through here.
