PlatinumGames’ Nintendo Switch-exclusive action-adventure title Astral Chain is out in just a little over a month, and ahead of its launch, a round of hands-on impressions and previews has gone live on various outlets. With that comes new gameplay footage as well, and VGC have put up two videos showing a total of roughly five minutes from the upcoming game.

The first video shows the game’s combat in action, showcasing a good mix of individual combat (which sees the player using a ranged weapon) and the synergetic combat with Legions that serves as the central hook of the experience. It’s looking pretty slick, especially a slowdown slashing mechanic that is very reminiscent of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (also developed by PlatinumGames). The second video shows investigation gameplay, which we’ve seen a fair bit of in recent days. Check out both videos below.

Astral Chain is out exclusively for the Switch on August 30. It’ll take up less than 10 GB of storage space in your system’s memory. In the meantime, check out another video focusing on the game’s setting – the Ark – through here.
