Team Asobi

Team Asobi of Astro Bot: Rescue Mission and Astro’s Playroom has launched its official website. This is noteworthy unto itself since the developer’s expansion and formal introduction over the past few months. However, it also revealed in the “About” section that it was “hard at work” on its “most ambitious game yet.”

The studio is currently hiring for a number of jobs including Gameplay, Graphics, VFX and Animation programmers. For the art side, it’s looking for artists specializing in UI, FX, Environments, 3D Characters, Animation and more. Team Asobi is based in Tokyo, Japan and though most are Japanese, it has developers from England, Germany, Colombia, Korea and France.

It should be interesting to see where Team Asobi goes from here, especially since it’s the last remaining Sony studio based in Japan. Astro’s Playroom is currently available for PlayStation 5 as a bundled game – the console itself has recently sold over 10 million, which makes the title one of the best-selling exclusives yet. Stay tuned for more details and updates in the meantime.
