The Mass Effect comics reveal how Cerberus recovered Shepard’s body
In Mass Effect Redemption which was four part comic series, Liara is tasked with recovering Shepard’s body, before the Collectors get it first. The Collectors are obsessed in gaining Shepard’s body and in a surprising turn of events, Cerberus approaches Liara and convinces her to recover Shepard’s body. Bound by duty, friendship and love for Shepard, Liara goes through hell in recovering the body, but ultimately recovers it and reluctantly gives it to Cerberus.
