Battlefield 2042 Won’t Face Another Delay – Insider

Tom Henderson says the shooter will be releasing on November 19th regardless of the beta "because the team is confident it's ready."

Battlefield 2042

DICE’s Battlefield 2042 is entering open beta this week for all platforms, allowing players to get their hands on the new Operators, Conquest changes and more before release. Given that it’s been delayed already, there might be some concern that Electronic Arts will delay the full launch a second time especially if the beta isn’t up to snuff. According to insider Tom Henderson though, that’s not happening.

Responding explicitly to a Reddit post that states that another delay is coming, Henderson said on Twitter, “#BATTLEFIELD2042 being delayed to March 2022 is bullshit. Everyone I’ve spoke to say it will release November 19 regardless of the BETA because the team is confident it’s ready.” He does note that if a delay were to ever happen, then March 2022 is “a very likely date.”

As such, Henderson speculates that if “Anything gets delayed it will be Hazard Zone and not the full game.” Interestingly, Hazard Zone hasn’t received any details beyond its description as “a tense experience that combines edge-of-your-seat gameplay with the best of the Battlefield sandbox.” Rumors have stated it to be akin to Escape from Tarkov but neither Electronic Arts nor DICE has officially confirmed the same. We’re still waiting for a full reveal at this point.

Battlefield 2042 releases on November 19th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC. For more details on the open beta, head here. You can also learn more about the progression and cosmetics here.
