Mirroring Infinity Ward’s recent free demos for Call of Duty: Ghosts and its respective DLC, EA has revealed that a free trial of DICE’s Battlefield 4 is currently available on PlayStation Plus. The offer applies to PlayStation Plus users on the PlayStation 3 and will be valid for 20 playable hours starting from May 27th. Note that it hasn’t been confirmed whether this free trial will be on PS4, whether now or in the foreseeable future.

You’ll be able to experience the maps, gadgets and weapons from the original game and thankfully, the trial version is dependent on the number of hours you play the game. This means it won’t expire after 20 hours from its introduction. Simply head to the PlayStation Store to procure your free trial.

As for newer experiences in the Battlefield franchise, rumours indicate that EA will be revealing a new spin-off in the franchise, developed by Visceral Games, at E3 2014. EA itself has teased a Frostbite 3-developed game for E3 but skipped any other details. Stay tuned for more information.
