Battlefield 5 War in the Pacific

The last entry in the Battlefield series, Battlefield 5, came out to some mixed reception. The game lacked content at its launch, leading to polarized feelings toward it. Over time developer DICE has been updating the title to bring it a little more up to snuff. While that’s the present of the franchise, we now have a peek at the future, though it’s going to be a ways off.

In their quarterly conference call, Electronic Arts revealed that the next entry in the long running franchise won’t come until fiscal year 2022, which would fall somewhere between April 2021 and March 2022.

Battlefield 5 launched in November of 2018, meaning that the series will go on a hiatus of possibly 3-4 years before another mainline entry hits. Since that will also put it smack dab in the middle of the launch of the next generation of console, so most likely the next entry will be able to take full advantage of them when it makes a return.
