It’s been over three years since PlatinumGames and Nintendo announced Bayonetta 3 for the Switch, but other than that very brief announcement teaser trailer, there have been zero updates on the game. The developer has assured time and time and time again that development on the action title is progressing smoothly though- which they recently did again.

Speaking recently with Famitsu, series creator Hideki Kamiya assured yet again that development on Bayonetta 3 is “progressing smoothly”. He acknowledged that there have been very little updates on the game, but asked fans not to worry, stating that “verification of new systems” has gone well recently.

“There are many people who are worried about Bayonetta 3 because there has been no new information since its original announcement, but the verification of new systems has been successful and the development is progressing smoothly, so please don’t worry,” Kamiya said.

At this point, given how many times Kamiya and PlatinumGames have given assurances about Bayonetta 3’s development going well, all we can do is take their word. Hopefully, development has progressed enough that it won’t be too long before we actually get to see the game in action, and perhaps even learn more about when it actually launches. Stay tuned until then for more updates.
